About Charity Cycle Challenge

charity-cycle-challenge-main.jpgTurning 40 is often a pivotal time in people’s lives. For long time friends Cameron Hall and James Burton, the milestone seemed like a good opportunity to plan something big together.

What could be bigger than a cycle from Sydney to Melbourne to raise awareness and funds for a charitable organization dedicated to those challenged by illness or injury. The Charity Cycle Challenge is the result and the Brain Injury Association of Queensland (BIAQ) the beneficiary.

Sydney to Melbourne 12 days 1200 Kilometers
29 September to 10 October 2007

Please help raise awareness and support those with acquired brain injury, their families and friends

Funds will be raised through sponsorships and individual donations.

The 2007 challenge has been dedicated to the memory of Dr Paul Hopkins, a Brisbane medico who made significant inroads into rehabilitation medicine in Queensland.

“An organization devoted to the improvement of the lives of those with acquired brain injury seems a fitting recipient for our efforts,” says Cameron Hall. As a lawyer, Cam works with people affected by injury and has long been a keen advocate of the Brain Injury Association.

“We’ve set a fundraising target of $20,000 for the inaugural challenge.” Donations will go towards the vital work performed by the Brain Injury Association in providing much needed support and services for those with acquired brain injury and their carers.

Unlike those affected by brain injury, James and Cam’s “battle” will be short-lived. Your donation, however small, will greatly assist the Brain Injury Association with their vital work in improving the quality of life of people living with and affected by acquired brain injury.
