Vision

The Brain Injury Association of Queensland seeks to be the lead community-based organisation in Queensland providing support, advocacy and information to people with ABI, their families, and to individuals or organisations that share the ABI experience in any way and for any reason.

Principle Objectives

To assist people with an acquired brain injury, those with behaviour that challenges our understanding, their families and stakeholders by implementing the following objectives:
  • To establish and maintain support systems throughout Queensland,
  •  Educating families, the professionals and the general public,
  •  To assist through advice, information, discussion during medical, rehabilitation and community support phases,
  • To increase community awareness and understanding of the particular challenges faced by people with acquired brain injury,  challenging behaviour, and their family,
  • To liaise with and develop alliances with other state, national and international organisations that will assist BIAQ achieve principal projects,
  • To facilitate and protect the rights of people with acquired brain injury and their families by;-
  • Lobbying all levels of governments,
  • Seeking and maintaining representation of the Association with appropriate government departments and agencies,
  • To raise funds in order to assist the achievement of these objectives.
